পরিচ্ছেদঃ ২৮৯ : যাকে লোক ‘রিয়া’ বা প্রদর্শন ভাবে অথচ তা প্রদর্শন নয়
১/১৬২৯। আবূ যার্র রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু হতে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেন, একদা রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম-কে জিজ্ঞাসা করা হল; বলুন, ’যে মানুষ সৎকাজ করে, আর লোকে তার প্রশংসা করে থাকে [তাহলে এরূপ কাজ কি রিয়া বলে গণ্য হবে?]’ তিনি বললেন, ’’এটা মু’মিনের সত্বর সুসংবাদ।’’ (মুসলিম) [1]
[আমলকারীর মনে সুনাম নেওয়ার উদ্দেশ্য না থাকলে; লোক-সমাজে তার সুনাম হলেও তা ’রিয়া’ বলে গণ্য হবে না। বরং তা হবে তার সওয়াবের একটি অংশ সত্বর প্রতিদান।]
(289) بَابُ مَا يُتَوَهَّمُ أَنَّهُ رِيَاءٌ وَلَيْسَ بِرِيَاءٍ
وَعَنْ أَبي ذرٍ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قِيلَ لِرَسُول اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم : أرَأيْتَ الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي يَعْمَلُ العَمَلَ مِنَ الخَيْرِ، وَيَحْمَدُهُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ ؟ قَالَ: «تِلْكَ عَاجِلُ بُشْرَى المُؤْمِنِ». رواه مسلم
(289) Chapter: Things not to be Considered as Showing off
Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked: "Tell us about a person who does some good deed and people praise him, will this be considered as showing off?" He replied, "This is the glad tidings which a believer receives (in this life)."
[Muslim].
Commentary: We learn from this Hadith that if a person does a virtuous act to please Allah (i.e., not with the intention to show off) and people praise him for it, then there is nothing wrong with it. In fact, such praise is the glad tidings which he receives in this world. Expression of such good opinion about him by the public is akin to a declaration that Allah is pleased with him. Sincere admiration and praise of someone by the public is not a disqualification. It is, in fact, an evidence of his virtuous conduct and its recognition by Allah.
