পরিচ্ছেদঃ ৩০২ : মৃত্যের জন্য মাতম করে কাঁদা, গাল চাপড়ানো, বুকের কাপড় ছিঁড়া, চুল ছেঁড়া, মাথা নেড়া করা ও সর্বনাশ ও ধ্বংস ডাকা নিষিদ্ধ
১১/১৬৭৬। আবূ হুরাইরা রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু হতে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেন, ’’মানুষের মধ্যে দুটো আচরণ এমন পাওয়া যায়, যা তাদের ক্ষেত্রে কুফরীমূলক কর্ম; বংশে খোঁটা দেওয়া ও মৃতের জন্য মাতম করে কান্না করা।’’ (মুসলিম) [1]
(302) بَابُ تَحْرِيْمِ النِّيَاحَةِ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ، وَلَطْمِ الْخَدِّ وَشَقِّ الْجَيْبِ وَنَتْفِ الشَّعْرِ وَحَلْقِهِ، وَالدُّعَاءِ بِالْوَيْلِ وَالثُّبُوْرِ
وَعَنْ أَبِيْ هُرَيرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: «اثْنَتَانِ فِي النَّاسِ هُمَا بِهِمْ كُفْرٌ : الطَّعْنُ فِي النَّسَبِ، وَالنِّيَاحَةُ عَلَى المَيِّتِ». رواه مسلم
(302) Chapter: Prohibition of Bewailing the Deceased
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Two things are signs of disbelief on the part of those who indulge in them: Slandering one's lineage and wailing over the dead."

Commentary: This Hadith has already been mentioned before [see the Hadith under Chapter 275]. Both the evils pointed out here are those sins which invite Allah's Wrath and will certainly take one out of the fold of Islam if one considers them lawful. Hence a person who practices them, revives the evils of the infidels. May Allah save us from such evils.
