পরিচ্ছেদঃ ২: তওবার বিবরণ
১২/২৫। আবূ হুরাইরাহ রাদিয়াল্লাহু ’আনহু থেকে বর্ণিত, আল্লাহর রাসূল সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেন, ’’আল্লাহ সুবহানাহু অতা’আলা ঐ দু’টি লোককে দেখে হাসেন, যাদের মধ্যে একজন অপরজনকে হত্যা করে এবং দু’জনই জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করবে। নিহত ব্যক্তিকে আল্লাহর পথে যুদ্ধ করা অবস্থায় (কোন কাফের কর্তৃক) হত্যা করে দেওয়া হল। পরে আল্লাহ তা’আলা হত্যাকারী কাফেরকে তওবা করার তাওফীক প্রদান করেন। ফলে সে ইসলাম গ্রহণ করে আল্লাহর রাস্তায় শহীদ হয়ে যায়।’’[1]
(2) - باب التوبة
24وَعَنْ أبي هريرة رَضِي اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم قَالَ : » يَضْحكُ اللَّهُ سبْحَانُهوتَعَالَى إِلَى رَجُلَيْنِ يقْتُلُ أحدُهُمَا الآخَرَ يدْخُلاَنِ الجَنَّة ، يُقَاتِلُ هَذَا في سبيلِ اللَّهِ فيُقْتل ، ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَىالْقَاتِلِ فَيسْلِمُ فيستشهدُ « مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ
(2) Chapter: Repentance
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Allah, the Exalted, smiles at two men, one of them killed the other and both will enter Jannah. The first is killed by the other while he is fighting in the Cause of Allah, and thereafter Allah will turn in mercy to the second and guide him to accept Islam and then he dies as a Shaheed (martyr) fighting in the Cause of Allah."

Commentary: Even the greatest sins, including those which one has committed before embracing Islam, are forgiven by repentance.
Smiling is also one of the Attributes of Allah, although we are unaware of the nature of it.
