পরিচ্ছেদঃ ৩৭০ : দাজ্জাল ও কিয়ামতের নিদর্শনাবলী সম্পর্কে
১৬/১৮৩২। উক্ত রাবী (আবূ হুরাইরা) রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু হতে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেন, আমি রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম-কে বলতে শুনেছি, ’’মদিনার অবস্থা উত্তম থাকা সত্ত্বেও তার অধিবাসীরা মদিনা ত্যাগ করে চলে যাবে। [সে সময়] সেখানে কেবল বন্য হিংস্র পশু-পক্ষীতে ভরে যাবে। সব শেষে যাদের উপর কিয়ামত সংঘটিত হবে, তারা মুযাইনাহ গোত্রীয় দু’জন রাখাল, যারা নিজেদের ছাগলের পাল হাঁকাতে হাঁকাতে মদিনা অভিমুখে নিয়ে যাবে। তারা মদিনাকে হিংস্র জীব-জন্তুতে ঠাসা অবস্থায় পাবে। তারপর যখন তারা [মদিনার উপকণ্ঠে অবস্থিত] ’সানিয়্যাতুল্ অদা’ নামক স্থানে পৌঁছবে, তখন তারা মুখ থুবড়ে মাটিতে পড়ে যাবে।’’ (বুখারী-মুসলিম) [1]
(370) بَابُ اَحَادِيْثِ الدَّجَّالِ وَاَشْرَاطِ السَّاعَةِ وَغَىْرِهَا
وَعَنْهُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ : «يَتْرُكُونَ المَدِينَةَ عَلَى خَيْرِ مَا كَانَتْ، لاَ يَغْشَاهَا إِلاَّ العَوَافِي يُرِيدُ ـ عَوَافِي السِّبَاعِ وَالطَّيرِ ـ وَآخِرُ مَنْ يُحْشَرُ رَاعِيَانِ مِنْ مُزَيْنَةَ يُرِيدَانِ المَدِينَةَ يَنْعِقَانِ بِغَنَمِهِمَا فَيَجِدَانِهَا وُحُوشاً، حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَا ثَنِيَّةَ الوَدَاعِ خَرَّا عَلَى وُجُوهِهمَا» . متفق عليه
(370) Chapter: Ahadith about Dajjal and Portents of the Hour
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "People will desert Al-Madinah in spite of it being in better condition except for wild beasts and birds. The Last Hour will happen upon two shepherds of the tribe of Muzainah. They will enter Al-Madinah driving their sheep but will find it full of wild beasts and would turn away. When they will arrive at the hill named Thaniyyat-ul-Wada' they will fall on their faces."

Commentary: According to some scholars like Al-Qadi `Iyad, this prophecy has already been fulfilled, when the caliphate was shifted from Al-Madinah to Syria and Mesopotamia, although Al-Madinah was superior to these places in every way, worldly or otherwise, scholars were in abundance and the people were well off. However, others say that the prophecy has not been fulfilled yet, and that it will be fulfilled shortly before the Day of Judgement; they hold this view because the conditions described in the narration have not taken place. This second view seems to be more correct.
