পরিচ্ছেদঃ ৭১: মু’মিনদের জন্য বিনয়ী ও বিনম্র হওয়ার গুরুত্ব
৯/৬১৫। উক্ত রাবী রাদিয়াল্লাহু ’আনহু [আবূ হুরায়রাহ] থেকে বর্ণিত, নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেন, ’’যদি আমাকে ছাগলাদির পা অথবা বাহু খাওয়ানোর জন্য দাওয়াত দেওয়া হয়, তাহলে আমি নিশ্চয় তা কবুল করব। আর যদি আমাকে পা অথবা বাহু উপঢৌকন দেওয়া হয়, তাহলে আমি নিশ্চয় তা সাদরে গ্রহণ করব।’’ (বুখারী) [1]
بَابُ التَّوَاضُعِ وَخَفْضِ الْجَنَاحِ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ - (71)
وَعَنهُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ: «لَوْ دُعِيتُ إِلَى كُراعٍ أَوْ ذِرَاعٍ لأَجَبْتُ، وَلَو أُهْدِيَ إِلَيَّ ذِرَاعٌ أَوْ كُرَاعٌ لَقَبِلْتُ ». رواه البخاري
(71) Chapter: Modesty and Courtesy towards the Believers
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "If I am invited to a meal consisting of a sheep's foot or shoulder, I would respond and I would accept as a gift a shoulder or a foot of a sheep."
[Al-Bukhari].
Commentary: This Hadith brings to our knowledge the humbleness and simplicity of Messenger of Allah (PBUH). It serves as an exemplar to us that we should accept the simple invitation of a poor man and even an ordinary gift. We must not reject the gift owing to its ordinariness and inadequacy.
