পরিচ্ছেদঃ ৪৬ : আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টির জন্য কারো সাথে ভালবাসা রাখার মাহাত্ম্য এবং তার প্রতি উৎসাহ প্রদান ও যে ব্যক্তি অন্য কাউকে ভালবাসে তাকে সে ব্যাপারে অবহিত করা ও কী বলে অবহিত করবে তার বিবরণ
৪/৩৮৩। আবূ হুরাইরা রাদিয়াল্লাহু ’আনহু থেকে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেন, ’’সেই সত্তার কসম যার হাতে আমার প্রাণ রয়েছে! তোমরা জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করবে না; যতক্ষণ না তোমরা মু’মিন হবে। এবং তোমরা মু’মিন হতে পারবে না; যে পর্যন্ত না তোমরা পরস্পরে ভালবাসা রাখবে। আমি কি তোমাদেরকে এমন কাজ বলে দেব না, যখন তোমরা তা করবে, তখন তোমরা একে অপরকে ভালবাসতে লাগবে? তোমরা পরস্পরের মধ্যে সালাম প্রচার কর।’’ (মুসলিম) [1]
بَابُ فَضْلِ الْحُبِّ فِي اللهِ وَالْحَثِّ عَلَيْهِ وَإِعْلاَمِ الرَّجُلِ مَنْ يُحِبُّهُ أَنَّهُ يُحِبُّهُ، وَمَاذَا يَقُوْلُ لَهُ إِذَا أَعْلَمَهُ - (46)
وَعَنهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى الله عليه وسلم: «والَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لاَ تَدْخُلُوا الجَنَّةَ حَتَّى تُؤْمِنُوا، وَلاَ تُؤْمِنُوا حَتَّى تَحَابُّوا، أوَلاَ أدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى شَيْءٍ إِذَا فَعَلْتُمُوهُ تَحَابَبْتُمْ ؟ أفْشُوْا السَّلَامَ بَيْنَكُمْ». رواه مسلم
(46) Chapter: Excellence and Etiquette of Sincere love for the sake of Allah
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is! You will not enter Jannah until you believe, and you shall not believe until you love one another. May I inform you of something, if you do, you love each other. Promote greeting amongst you (by saying As-salamu 'alaikum to one another)".

Commentary: In this Hadith, Islam has been regarded as the medium of mutual love. This is the reason Muslims have been enjoined to greet each other regardless of acquaintance. It does not, however, mean that a Muslim will be a true believer or entitled to Jannah, by mere greeting. What it really means is that his Faith will become meaningful only when it is supported by actions. Greeting is an Islamic custom and a practical form and demonstration of it. The combination of Faith and its practice will take a Muslim to Jannah.
