পরিচ্ছেদঃ ৩২: দুর্বল, গরীব ও খ্যাতিহীন মুসলিমদের মাহাত্ম্য
৫/২৬১। আবূ হুরায়রা (রা.) থেকে বর্ণিত, কালোবর্ণের একজন মহিলা অথবা যুবক মসজিদ ঝাড়ু দিত। রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম তাকে (একদিন) দেখতে পেলেন না। সুতরাং তিনি তার সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন। সাহাবীগণ বললেন, ’সে মারা গেছে।’ তিনি বললেন, ’’তোমরা আমাকে সংবাদ দিলে না কেন?’’ তাঁরা যেন তার ব্যাপারটাকে নগণ্য ভেবেছিলেন। তিনি বললেন, ’’আমাকে তার কবরটা দেখিয়ে দাও।’’ সুতরাং তাঁরা তার কবরটি দেখিয়ে দিলেন এবং তিনি তার উপর জানাযা পড়লেন। অতঃপর তিনি বললেন, ’’নিশ্চয় এ কবরসমূহ কবরবাসীদের জন্য অন্ধকারময়। আর আল্লাহ তা’আলা তাদের জন্য আমার জানাযা পড়ার কারণে তা আলোময় করে দেন।’’ (বুখারী ও মুসলিম) [1]
(32) - بَابُ فَضْلِ ضِعْفَةِ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ وَالْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْخَامِلِيْنَ
وعنه أَنَّ امْرأَةً سوْداءَ آَانَتَ تَقُمُّ المسْجِد ، أَوْ شَابّاً ، فَفقَدَهَا ، أو فقده رسولُ اللَّه صَلّى االلهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم، فَسَأَلَ عَنْهَا أَوْ عنْهُ ، فقالوا : مات . قال : » أَفَلا آُنْتُمْ آذَنْتُمُونِي « فَكَأَنَّهُمْ صغَّرُوا أَمْرَهَا ، أَوْ أَمْرهُ ، فقال :دُلُّونِي عَلَى قَبْرِهِ « فدلُّوهُ فَصلَّى عَلَيه ، ثُمَّ قال : » إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْقُبُور مملُوءَةٌ ظُلْمةً عَلَى أَهْلِهَا ، وإِنَّ اللَّه تعالىيُنَوِّرهَا لَهُمْ بصَلاتِي عَلَيْهِمْ « متفقٌ عليه .قوله : » تَقُمُّ هو بفتحِ التَّاءِ وَضَمِّ الْقَافِ : أَيْ تَكنُسُ . » وَالْقُمَامةُ « : الْكُنَاسَةُ . »وَآذَنْتُمونِي « بِمدِّ الهَمْزَةِ: أَيْ : أَعْلَمتُمُونِي .
(32) Chapter: Superiority of Poor, Weak and unrenowned Muslims
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
A black woman (or probably a young man) used to clean the mosque. Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) missed her (or him) and asked about her (or him). He was told that she (or he) had died. He (ﷺ) said, "Why did you not inform me?" (It seemed as if) they (Companions) considered the matter insignificant. Then he (ﷺ) said, "Show me her (or his) grave." When it was shown to him, he offered (Janazah-funeral) prayer over it and said, "These graves cover those in them with darkness, and Allah illumines them for the inmates as a result of my supplication for them".

Commentary: On the basis of some other narrations, the 'Ulama' have accepted that the person mentioned in this Hadith who used to sweep the mosque was a woman known as Umm Mihjan. This Hadith highlights the following four important points:
1. The merit of keeping mosques clean.
2. The height of compassion and kindness of the Prophet (PBUH).
3. The importance of participation in the funeral prayer of virtuous persons.
4. Permission to perform funeral prayer of virtuous person after his/her burial, if one is unable to participate in it when it is performed before the burial of the deceased.
